• Opposes driver's licenses for illegal immigrants.

• Huckabee opines that illegal immigrants should go home and start over again.  According to
him it is not being cruel but being kind to those who have spent their lives in hiding and running
on sighting a police car. He feels that the country owes this priority to the legal ones who have
been waiting in line for a long time. This would make sense and protect the borders and the dignity
of each person in the country.

• Huckabee proposed building a border fence within the first 18 months of taking office. By
doing this there would be no open door for people to just walk in and out of at will. According to
him Americans are not angry that people are coming into the country but instead they thank God that
people are trying to break into their country rather than break out of it, but they should come in
legally which would be better for the country and themselves.

• Huckabee wants the American citizens to hold their heads up high. But with the illegal
immigrants it is not possible since they are throughout America in hiding while at the same time
trying to feed their families.  He wants all citizens in the US to live decently and hence the
illegal immigrants should start all over again and get a legal citizenship in order to live decently
with a sense of pride and not fear.

• Huckabee acknowledges America's need for doctors and engineers in abundance but says they
should enter the country legally.

• According to Palin there are 12 million illegal immigrants in the US and deporting them is
not possible economically as well as it is not a humane way of dealing with the issue. They should
be made to follow rules and made to understand that legal immigrants should have the first
preference of opportunities provided by this great country. If they follow the rules they can be
treated fairly and equally in the country.

• Not having expressed her views on illegal immigration often, Sarah supports citizenship for
illegal immigrants but feels there is no amnesty for the illegal immigrants. Priority should be
given to the legal immigrants before granting opportunities to the illegal ones.  

• She has reached out to the illegal immigrants requesting their needs.  She feels that they
require more vocational training, the end of gang violence, assistance to seniors and mostly
outreach and communication within their communities.  Palin insists on a diversity task force.

• Illegal immigrants in Alaska are at loggerheads over obtaining driver's licenses before
Palin was elected Governor. The state Senate then approved a Bill banning licenses to illegals
tightening the requirements for obtaining a license only if they prove their legal identity. This
has affected the illegal immigrants in Alaska severely.

• Sarah Palin has stated that she is sick to death about the immigration nonsense and has not
expressed her views often on illegal immigration.  She feels that the new administration needs of
Alaska should be energetically started early to enable a co-operative relationship with Canada.

• Romney opposes amnesty or permanent legalization for illegal aliens and temporary
legalization for illegal aliens as guest workers. 

• He opposes allowing illegal immigrants to get driver's licenses.

• Mitt strongly believes that illegal immigrants should go home eventually and sign up for
permanent citizenship legally within a set period of time. This would be his final decision again
illegal immigration.

• With regard to the employers who have and are employing illegal immigrants, Romney feels
that they can't be penalized with imprisonment.  On the other hand they should hire non US citizens
who bear a valid social security number.  This card should be verified on the computer for
authenticity before they can be hired.  If this is not followed, the employer would be subject to
sanctions similar to those for not paying taxes in the country.

• Mitt Romney is in favor of scholarships and tuitions for illegal immigrants.  He has also
supported scholarships funded by taxpayers for illegal immigrants. He was reported to have mentioned
"I hate the idea of, in any way, making it more difficult for kids, even those who are illegal
aliens, to afford college in our state."

• Children born in America from illegal parents become US citizens by virtue of being born in
the US.  But in Romney's opinion it's a mistake as these children are surely going to get their
family chain into the country illegally and thus legal immigration cannot be protected.  Legal
applicants will have to continue waiting for their turn to unite with their loved ones.

• Romney is against the 'Z visa' that allows illegal immigrants to continue living in the US
for 13 years before they are able to become citizens of the country.  He opines that it is not fair
to keep the legal applicants waiting to enter the country through the proper procedure and allow the
illegals to stay.
